Jane has always written plays and poems, and in her teenage years won two national poetry prizes. When she met Michael Brand, he persuaded her that she was writing lyrics and not poems and they used Jane’s poetry as the basis for their first work together, ‘Longer than it takes to say Goodbye’ which ran at the Kings Head in Islington.
In 2014 Jane wrote the lyrics for ‘King and Country’, a musical theatre piece about the First World War which was performed at the Brighton Fringe.
Jane has been obsessed with the ‘Alice’ stories ever since she and her sister used to recite them while washing the dishes and ‘CLD- The Real Lewis Carroll’ ran for three weeks in Oxford to 4 Star reviews.
More recently, Alan Turing – ‘Guilty of Love’ opened in Brighton and then toured to Yvonne Arnaud Theatre (Guildford) Key Theatre (Peterborough) and Wimbledon Theatre, London to great acclaim.

Oxford Music Theatre Ltd is a Not-for-Profit Company, Limited by Guarantee.
We have called the Company Oxford Music Theatre because it reflects our joint experience of opportunity at the highest level at Oxford across a number of disciplines.
We also wanted to find the best environment to produce ‘CLD – The Real Lewis Carroll’, our fourth show together and we wanted to create a production company for this.
But we have broader objectives, formed by a number of years searching for the pathway to writing, nurturing, developing and then finding productions for new British musicals. Whilst pathways in the UK are perhaps emerging, we decided that the most sensible way forward was to create our own.
Oxford Music Theatre Ltd is Registered as a Not for Profit Limited Company in the UK.
